My Summer Movie Reviews

I get excited about stuff. Sometimes ridiculously so. I also tend to over-hype things. My friends realize this and for the most part, I think they've just grown accustomed to it. That said, I also realize that there are those that don't like for things like music and movies to be built up so much because then they can't get excited. They fear that if they hear that a movie is great over and over they will be dissapointed or if they hear that a film is terrible they will be pleasantly surprised. My following movie reviews for two recent films are for those people. Here we go.

"Wanted"
Maybe the best piece of cinema ever. The story was interesting and believable. It stayed completely true to the source material and the performances from the actors will most definitely garner some notice, come award season. Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman may have turned in the performances of their lifetimes creating interesting characters with layer upon layer of character development. My vote for the family film of the year.

"The Dark Knight"
Complete crap. Worst movie ever. Christian Bale? Sucked. Aaron Ekhart? Sucked. Morgan Freeman? Sucked. Heath Ledger? Super sucked. The action was totally unoriginal and I was bored the entire film. The plot was terrible, the characters were devoid of any personality. I mean, Michael Caine's character, Alfred, had no point in the movie and Caine could be added to the list of actors above that just coasted through their roles. Heath Ledger phoned in this portrayal of the worst comic book villain ever and ended his short career on a sour not. Don't watch this film. I myself will not be seeing it at least three times in the theaters.

To sum up for those that hate the hype machine:
"Wanted"- Best movie ever.
"The Dark Knight"- Worst movie ever.

I totally agree. With all the hype leading up to the Dark Knight it was a total let down. I wanted to stab my eyes out when I was watching it.

Wanted will definitely receive an academy award. It was absolutely amazable. I can't wait until it comes out on DVD. Until then Ill have to settle for going to the theater once a week to see it again.
